I had never heard of child trafficking before. It was September of 2006 and I was at a women’s meeting at my church with Coleen Grove when I first heard about the issue. I felt useless and knew something needed to be done, but I never had a desire to go to Southeast Asia. 

When Coleen said something about a trip to Bolivia it felt like something hit me on the back of the head. I argued with God – I had never traveled like this before! Later that night I told my friend Wendy Felts, “We’re going to Bolivia for my birthday.” It’s like God revealed to us at the same time how comfortable we are in our lives. There was so much stuff going on around us that we were not even aware of, and we asked and prayed ‘what can we do about it?’
